When using Microsoft Windows editor emulation, Delete Selection Mode is active so that selected text is deleted when you type or paste text. Also, Delete deletes the current selection.
Note: Delete Selection Mode can also be used independently of Microsoft Windows editor emulation. See 3.13 Delete Selection for details.
